The average rating for Peter Capaldi’s last season was 5.8 million viewers. No episode that season rated above 6.68 million – and that rating was for the season premiere. That season featured the only two episodes to rate below 5 million viewers EVER since Doctor Who was revived in 2005.
The season before that the average rating was 6.20 million. That was the first season since 2005 not to have a single episode rate over 7 million viewers. Every season before that had an average rating in the 7 millions, except for season 4 in 2008 which averaged 8.42 million. Incidentally, that was David Tennant’s last full season, and the final full season before the Moffatt years.
Whilst the ratings have only been announced for 4 episodes so far, not a single episode of Jodie Whittaker’s first sesason has fallen below 8 million viewers. The average rating so far has been 9.15 million. Its true that it is unlikely the average will stay that high – ratings have technically been dropping week by week. Exactly as happened every season in the past – it is perfectly normal for ratings to fall towards the middle of a season, and rise again for the finale.
A lot of the media will just do anything to discredit this season because they can’t handle the fact the Doctor is female now.

All the dollar tree stores I have been in have some sort of medical aisle too. Its actually where I went first when my tooth broke for some off brand orajel (Works much faster and better than orajel imo, longer too if you put it on a cotton ball and keep it in the area) And sometimes even emergency temp tooth repair kits, which are at least $7 elsewhere. Dollar tree is a miracle.
I love Dollar Tree. When I first moved out this place saved me.

Dollar Tree also sells PREGNANCY TESTS and yes they work! Go in and buy like 5 of them, don’t spend $25 on three at CVS, not worth your money and honestly has saved me TONS of anxiety.
Dollar Tree also takes EBT. I nearly cried when I discovered that, because of my strict dietary needs.

Also–college kids! When my roommate stole all of my forks and bowls and then moved out unannounced in the middle of my freshman year, I went straight to Dollar Tree and got 2 packs of forks (each pack is 4 forks) for $1 each and some cute bowls that are still my favorite bowls in the house. Not only is their silverware sturdy, but their plates and bowls are really cute.
A few dollar tree stores near me have even added a cold foods section! So check your local Dollar Tree for a $1 bag of frozen chicken nuggets and get yourself a meal!
Worked on this girl for 9 months. Now this new music video comes out and she’s immensely popular, arguably one of the most popular characters in the LoL universe.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m really glad she’s a huge hit, it’s super exciting to see so many people love the character design and the gameplay, and know that I contributed directly and significantly to the behind-the-scenes engineering that makes it all work. It’s validating.
But it’s also so fucking melancholy to know I did so much work and put in so much time for such a shitty company, run by shitty people, and the reward I got for it was unemployment.
I threw a lot into this character. I cried at work. I started getting panic attacks, which I’ve never gotten before. I developed persistent heart palpitations from the daily overwhelming stress and had to go to the hospital (this is true, seriously.) I basically dropped all my friends outside of work. My manager (and his manager!) lied to me constantly to keep me working. They said I was doing a great job but to keep it up. Don’t worry, it’s going to turn out great, and it’ll all be worth it in the end – recognition, a raise, probably a promotion in short order. They promised me the world. When she was finally finished, I didn’t even get to go to the release party, they just walked me out.
I remember a quote from my last day, it sticks out in my mind: “I know you realize this is really hard for me,” my manager said. Yes, in the end, when he awkwardly informed me I didn’t have my dream job anymore – or any job at all – and then stared back at my shell-shocked face, my thousand-yard stare, the only thing he felt was sorry for himself.
She launched with no major bugs and was considered a technical success. Doesn’t matter. Get the fuck out.
I don’t know how I feel. A weird sensation of pride and intense bitterness. I did a good job; at least, I think I did. Unfortunately, internal validation is the only kind I’m going to get.
Everyone reposting KDA should see this. Riot has successfully distracted everyone into forgetting their culture of sexism,exploitation, and toxicity mere months after it was all revealed.
Look, I get it. Akali is EXTREMELY my type. It’s obvious how much love and care was put into her development. But it makes me furious to see all the free advertising that Riot is getting from people who I thought would know better.
And now? One of the people who is arguably responsible for all that free advertising? Who’s work is undoubtedly making Riot hundreds of thousands of dollars a day? Who was overworked to the point of near breaking? They get nothing. WORSE than the scant bit of credit that most devs can get in a big company like Riot. They got let go.
Fuck Riot Games.
One thing that I thought really sucked a lot is that the production company who made the KDA video isn’t even credited. They credit a lot of other people on their videos, usually, but the actual animators of the video are hidden; almost a lie by omission. At best it’s a honest mistake, at worst it’s sneakily trying to pass off the video as something made in-house when it’s not. 😦
With the wee bit of drama circulating around, I just wanted to clarify something to the individual who has got on some people’s asses over headcanoning villains as anything else besides white, cis and straight.
I headcanon Felix as a queer white passing métis trans demiboy. I do this because this is how I am and Felix has helped me out so much during my transition, basically saving my life. Yeah he’s a piece of shit and lots of people hate him, but there are others out there who rely on him in this way. For me, Felix is a positive figure in my life. He fucking loves himself and that is powerful when you view him as a trans dude. Being trans and loving yourself is so fucking hard and Felix loving himself and doing what is best for him is inspiring for me.
Now that I’m older and have a stable life, I think back on those shitty times where I was struggling with my identity and what I wanted to do with my life. Felix taught me that I can do whatever the fuck I want with my life and if someone or something gets in my way, cut them down and move on. I do what I want for me. I am the most important person in my life because it’s me. I deserve to be happy and comfortable in this shit hole of a world and I’m going to make the best of it for me.
I am a better person because of this. Headcanoning Felix this way isn’t bad. You shouldn’t attack people for headcanoning villains in a way you don’t like because you deem it “wrong” or “bad.” It is healthy for some people and guess what?
It’s all fucking fiction, so why the fuck does it matter!? Let people enjoy things the way they want to enjoy it! If it upsets you? Block it or whatever. Just get off of other people’s asses for enjoying something harmlessly.
