Since ol’ Johnny died I’ve seen a lot of posts about what a fantastic person he was. I found this a touch confusing, so I made a list:

-John McCain was anti LBGT marriage equality and civil unions, saying instead that we should be allowed into “legal agreements”

-He was pro life, having voted 115/119 times to ban abortions.

-He voted against the legalization of marijuana, calling it a gateway drug.

-He was against federal funding of sex education and birth control, voting against a plan to spend $100mil to reduce teen pregnancy via contraception and education.

-He voted 19 times against raising the minimum wage.

-He was against universal health care.

-He voted against the federal holiday for MLKj, and actually helped remove it from Arizona as a state holiday, only changing his position “due to the economic boycotts and image problems Arizona was receiving as a result of it not having one.”

-And he believed that vaccines cause autism.

Just because you die, doesn’t mean you become a saint. He may have done some good things, but ultimately, he was still just another shitty politician.
