by doing this you have guaranteed that even if you tricked me into opening this one letter, i will never for the remainder of my life buy anything that you are selling, because you performed this dick move and it pissed me off

does this actually work? is this a millenial/genX thing? do 30+ people actually get this mail, think ‘oh ho they tricked me! what a clever ruse! i will sign up for 5 years of the atlantic!’ or something? because my respect for the atlantic as a publication just dropped from -15 to whatever degrees it is on jupiter’s furthest moon
