• Hot cocoa in a Styrofoam cup but
  there’s not enough room in the cup for a full packet of hot cocoa so it’s

• Old programs for concerts, baptisms, events, and VBS printed with black ink on colored 8.5″x11″ paper folded in half 
• Little acrylic bead craft projects in the shapes of lizards or cats that some girl made at church camp and forgot to take home 
• Glitter but not in the joyful gay way

This is fascinating to me because I never went to church, I’m not a Christian, and yet I can so clearly imagine this it’s like I was there

• if your church had a choir room in the basement, another piano that has been fixed since the 1980s, but only just so, the choir robe racks that smell like mothballs, ancient risers that are only being held up through the intervention of god himself, and super old music books that no one has gotten around to throwing out.
• if there was a kitchen in the basement, then a refrigerator that has a huge piece of wedding cake that’s been sitting there since time immemorial, oven ranges that probably aren’t safe anymore, That Countertop Design (you know the one), mismatched silverware from many eras, a strange assortment of coffee cups, and an industrial sized bag or tub of pretzel sticks.
• there’s a shuffleboard setup on the floor but no one’s played on it since 1981.
• same goes for the hopscotch course made out of tape.
• beige everything, white everything else.
• buzzing fluorescent lights. there’s always one that won’t stop flickering.
• burnt coffee smell
• those folding chairs that are just human-sized mouse traps 
• (if you had to wear nylons at any point, those chairs where the edge under your thighs is all busted up so the splintered edge kept picking at the back of your legs and it sucked)
• Why Are There So Many Sequins
• dried glue sticks and the Church Curse of there being only one good one, but the worst kid in sunday school is the one who always seems to get it
• the supply room, aka narnia
• the sound of chairs scooting across tile (that one chewbacca noise)
• styrofoam cups with bites taken out of the rim by bored kids
• all those supplies from christmas programs that have slowly accumulated over the years, except they always fall back on the same robes for joseph, mary, and the wise men. (bonus points if they’re an extremely anachronistic color like bright purple or turquoise. double bonus if they’re the same robes from the late 1980s)
• the exact feeling of almost swallowing one of those plastic beads and having a near death experience
• the row of unsafe and outdated high chairs
• that one glitter glue stain on the tile from many sunday schools ago

my moms surgery cost a lot more than we thought it would so we wont have money for food for a while. just as soon as i think i can start eating properly and gain weight im shot back down i just never catch a break 😦

So this happened to me a few days ago, and I thought maybe sharing my experience could help someone if this happens to them in the future.

I was checking my Tumblr when suddenly I was logged out from it and given the usual Log In page. When I entered the details to access my blog, this appeared:

My heart skipped a bit. I tried to re-enter the details (maybe I got them wrong the first time), but no, the same message about Termination was shown. I typed my blog URL and got the

Same thing with my sideblogs.

So obviously I was very worried. I contacted the Tumblr support but didn’t get an answer for 48 hours, only an automated reply. I already started mentally saying goodbye to my blogs, my posts and all my followers, when finally I recieved their answer:

We’ve restored your account.
Thank you for bringing this problem to our attention. We’re sorry that it occurred, and we’ll do our best to make sure that it doesn’t happen again.
You should now be able to log in just fine with your email address and password.
Please let me know if there’s anything else I can help you with.

 My blog was restored and working normally. All my sideblogs were intact , and so were my posts and my followers. The only thing that was lost, is all the conversations by Messages. The people with whom you talked are still there, but all the history of the conversation is gone.

Alright so here is what you should do if this happens to you. Don’t panick like I did Click on the “contact support” link provided in the terminated window. Alternatively, go on Tumblr.com/support. 

Politely explain your situation – give your blog URL, your mail, tell what happened exactly. I understand that the situation can be upsetting, but the person who will read the message and try to help you isn’t directly responsible for the termination of your blog. And sending an angry message with insults isn’t the best way to get your blog back either. 

 Wait for the reply of the team. If you feel like it takes too much time (more than few days for example), try to fill the Help/Support form again. 

 Once the team is in contact with you, keep the polite tone. Normally if your blog didn’t go againt the Tumblr rules and policies, you should getit back like I did.

Hey so it’s your friendly neighborhood gay nerd asking for help again because I really do need this resolved. PayPal is pure evil when it comes to money and situations, which makes my dependence on them for work and donations all the more cruelly ironic.

I haven’t had the energy to deal with this for a good three months but I tried today and was on the phone with customer service for nearly an hour and they told me they couldn’t do shit so here I am 😪

I really don’t wanna lose my account and have my credit become like…disastrously subpar, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I still have to pay $360 for this semester’s tuition and my phone/TV/internet/home security bill is $550 and I’m trying to book my second therapy session which is $150, so I have a lot of stuff to juggle so this is stressing me out way too much and I want to get this resolved ASAP so I can not have to worry about something as important as this.

For those unaware because staff isn’t saying it

Tumblr was deemed too full of inappropriate content to be allowed to be downloaded from the app store.

It has this “inappropriate” problem because of rampant porn ad bot accounts. The old solutions were bots to detect image sets with nsfw content, the automatically enabled safe mode, tag filtering for mobile, and wide takedowns of nsfw bots based on words used (that’s why their messages are full of numbers and symbols, to evade this)

Tumblr released their own bot supposedly capable of wiping the ad bots, but it’s taking down many popular blogs, possibly due to sheer amounts of posting or sheer amounts of ad bots in their notes. This bot was likely rushed to be put out.

You are more likely to be accidentally flagged if you post external links, as well. If your acct is taken down you CAN get it back, but it’s a pain. E-mail tumblr support for help with this. It takes down side blogs with the main ones.

I’ll be halting posts for about a week or until this problem is fixed.
