And yes, I do agree that much more needs to be done to help people with mental illness so that Suicide isn’t even a risk, but making it hard to access the one thing that makes suicides incredibly easy should be a common sense policy to put into place. And I’m saying this as someone who has lived with mental illness my whole life.
The link between fire arm availability and suicides is very strong for a reason.
mentally ill people don’t kill themselves because we have access to guns, we kill ourselves because we live in a fucked up society that tramples all over us and refuses to treat the actual fcking problem. Kind of like how liberals spend all their time trying to ban guns while glossing over that its exclusively reactionary white men killing everyone. fuck you and anyone else who thinks theyre helping me by refusing me access to a weapon lol. were not impulsive fucking children you patronizing ass
