The Festival of the Lost is celebrated with odd ways of honoring the dead. Some guardians light candles within the shells of dead ghosts to signify a lingering presence. Some see to it that they wear a lost one’s class item for the duration, or alternate between a few in order to show how close they were. Some leave an exotic engram in the deceased’s dwelling as tribute, not knowing where they’ve gone but that they have gone in greatness. Other guardians deal with their grief during these times in less healthy ways. Hunting down the exact foe that had slain their love. Isolating themselves in their ship, waiting in orbit for days at a time. Feeling guilt that they could not resurrect another in time. Not being able to stomach using the same element of light as the hole in their heart. Despite how guardians deal with it all, one thing is for certain: they cannot resist the paper mache masks.
~ Honouring the dead varies so much. But it’s still a celebration of the life they lived and how you choose to remember it. Guardians hosting private events to remember Guardians lost. Yet partake in celebration of guardian lives still here.~
