I really hate to do this but I am in need of dire donations to help my fiance keep his job.
Hurricane Florence hit our hometown (Havelock, NC), and in truth our entire state, hard. This is what the front yard looked like at my fiances house. He rents a room at his grandparents, and the van you see is his means of getting to work and being able to pay rent. As you can see…well, to be blunt it’s fucked. These are pictures of the day after, the flash flooding took hold of the van and floated it to it’s current position. The house was also damaged since 5 or 6 inches got inside, but his grandparents aren’t making him pay anything toward that.
If he doesn’t have the van, he doesn’t have a job. He works as a mentor to special needs individuals and has to have something that can hold multiple wheelchairs as well as his clients. His boss is giving him a few weeks to get on his feet since they’re closed due to the disaster but we have no money saved and as such, no way to fix the van. If he isn’t able to pay rent, he has no where to live, and my racist stepfather won’t let him stay with us. I’m a full time student and am going to be selling commissions on the side, but we really need help.
