Of note: that first one is from Gankutsuou (loosely based on The Count of Monte Cristo), and it’s pretty much an entire series dedicated to experimenting with this aesthetic (it also happens to be a fantastic series; highly recommended!)

Gankutsuo has it all, Good art, gay vampires, good music, space sex??? (maybe) , and mechs. It’s great.
