honestly Danny Phantom is a good example of a creative premise made dull by execution

similarly, Avatar the Last Airbender is a good example of a generic premise elevated by its execution

listen, AtLA is an amazing series

but “anime inspired series about teenagers who control the four elements” sounds awful on paper

that’s like Baby’s First DeviantArt Comic

Meanwhile, “the son of a pair of ghost hunters is a ghost and must keep his identity a secret from them in a metaphor for being trans, and also the afterlife is a multiverse of various purgatories” becomes dull when made by an evangelical who is so stuck up his own ass that the metaphor was a total accident and fucking changed his mind about ghosts being dead people halfway through the series.

The same can be said of Fairly Odd Parents. The execution could have made it a far better show. It started out with promise, but it got steadily worse and worse. In later seasons, Timmy stopped learning life lessons and it was just him repeatedly coming up with new plots to prevent Cosmo and Wanda from ever leaving him.

Bitch Fartman is like King Midas, except everything he touches turns into shit.
