If there’s one piece of advice I could give artists on Tumblr, it’s this: don’t create a sideblog for The Weird Stuff. I know it seems like you’re being considerate to your more sensitive followers, but eventually you’ll get lazy or desensitised and just start posting everything to your main blog – yet you’ll still have that sideblog for The Weird Stuff, and thus feel obligated to up your game in order to justify its existence. There’s only one way that cycle ends.
(And no, I’m not talking about NSFW sideblogs. NSFW content and The Weird Stuff are potentially overlapping but quite distinct categories; indeed, I’ve run into artists who have an NSFW sideblog which itself has a sideblog – a sidesideblog? – for The Weird Stuff.)
